I installed SuSE 6.0 a couple of weeks ago, and have been using the 2.0.36 bundled kernel. I finally got some time this weekend and compiled/installed the 2.2.4 kernel. However, now my CD-ROM doesn't work. # mount /mnt/cdrom results in: mount: fs type unknown not supported by kernel My /etc/fstab looks like: <snip> /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom iso9660 ro,noauto, user 0 0 <snip> which is how its been since the beginning. The drive is an Acer 24x ATAPI/IDE drive, and was working like a charm under RedHat, SuSE 5.3, 6.0, and I've compiled many kernels. I've compiled 5 times already double, triple, and quadruple checking all the options on block devices and file systems. Any tips? I'm not compiling anything as modules, so it can't be that a mod is not loaded... Support for Joliet and ISO9660 fs are selected, as is support for the appropriate ATAPI/IDE block devices. -- Michael Merritt michael@merrittpop.com | <A HREF="http://www.merrittpop.com/</A">http://www.merrittpop.com/</A> michaelmerritt@email.com | <A HREF="http://www.formax.net/jmm/</A">http://www.formax.net/jmm/</A> ICQ: 21021306 -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
