Perhaps the HPLIP packman packages do also not work for other openSUSE versions.
Kind Regards Johannes Meixner -- I am still running SuSE 9.3, because 10.0 would show about 6 % of emails in some Asian characters. However, 10.0 would print to HP 2200D and 9.3 won't. I have tried to get a new HPLIP, but without success. Please, somebody tell me how to erase all traces of HPLIP, all traces of the 2200D, and tell the system to print to a PostScript printer at parallel port xxx. I suspect that that would work. (I may try 11.2 when it comes out. I am worried about losing some files in the turnover, or saving some files I don't want the new OS to know about.)
Yes, Patrick, I have been here for a while, but I am not a Unix maven, and have never been. Please bear with me.
Doug, I'd advise a total fresh install, but use 11.1...install from the DVD release. The only files you need to save are the ones you have created....photos, anything by OpenOffice, etc. They should be in your /home/? dir. which you DON'T want to format when you do the fresh install. MAKE CERTAIN you do the setup with a "custom" config. for the hard drive(s) so that you don't over-write your /home/? dir. Naturally, do a backup of that dir. BEFORE you do the install.
