<*]I have a creative webcam III [USB]. I know it isn't supported under <*]Linux <*]yet [which is a real pain the behind as I hate Win98 as the comp is too <*]slow for the camera... or rather the OS is ;o)] My main question is... <*]where do I find information about new things being supported in Linux [as <*]they happen]? Is there a unified site for this? <*] Wrong! Creative Webcam III is pretty well supported under Linux, even with SuSE's "basical" kernel 2.2.X. (I mean, it is not a recent feature of kernel 2.4, for instance...) Configure your kernel for USB support and OV511 camera support (USB support section). Have a look at www.linux-usb.org to get more infos and software to use with your cam (I use w3cam).
