I normally use opera more than firefox. But this is just, well awful... Try renaming your profile. I had the same problem a while back.
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-help-here/applications/404229-font-pr... Could you be a little more specific... I know what my "profile" is in firefox. Though I've no idea how to get it to use a renamed profile (unless does it have an internal function for that?) Which is a mute point because Firefox is rendering these pages correctly... my ~/.opera directory tree is a complex collection of files and directories, none of which appears to be named profile. How does one "rename an opera 'profile'" without loosing all of ones settings and starting over from scratch. And if that's the point I already tried temporarily renaming ~/.opera to ~/,operaWAS and let opera create a new ~/.opera directory. But this didn't help so I restored my original...
