Hi Lenz,
I noticed that unlike RH and MDK, SuSE does not provide SMP kernel versions
of the Nvidia driver. Any chance of this happening?

it looks like SuSE has released updated kernel packages for SuSE 7.2:

Well, finally, I would say.
Even better, nVidia has already recompiled its NVIDIA_kernel package for us. Grab it at their web site.
Not exactly - _we_ compiled these RPMs for them. It took them quite a while to put them on their download site - otherwise the kernel update would have been out much earlier.
The only thing missing is some sort of release announcement, or SDB article on the newer kernel. I really hope SuSE continues to release official 2.4.x series of kernels on a regular basis, since from what I understand the kernel is in quite a healthy state of development (a euphemism if you've ever heard one ;-).
You don't want to know how long it took us to get this version stable. 2.4 is still in heavy movement.
