I allowed SuSE to dictate how I partition MY hard-drves on MY system (how Microsoftian!) and followed Mark Gray's advice about the barrier=none addition, and have been running for a while, cross your fingers.
Can see the reviews now if SuSE only had the advanced/manual partition option...Always done manual here, because I have /home on its own partition and I want to make sure it always ends up being selected correctly.
On a related note, if reiserfs has problems why did SuSE adopt it for the / partition, moving away from ext3 (which was the default on 7.3, I think)?
What issues are you seeing? If you're comparing to SuSE 7.3...Well thats
a long time ago in a Universe far, far away and ext3 may not have even
been an option. The next version of Reiser seems a little more
interesting :). Actually sat through a presentation on it.
