[opensuse] LXDE after update, we can't shut down from user menu

12.3 with LXDE community repo. After a zypper dup, users can no longer shut down the machine by clicking on the icon of the door and selecting shutdown. They have to first log out and then shut down from LXDM. Of course, all users are outraged at this major inconvenience. Anyone got a fix?
