Hello All, Thanks to many of you on this list I have my vmware 2.04 running with win 98 SE as guest on my Suse 8.2 , 2.4.21 kernel ,athlon xp 16+ system. So far it is doing well except for networking. I do not want to use the vmware samba, because I have samba set up and working fine between all 3 of our computers here at home. I only want to share files, folders, maybe the zip drive between my vmware win 98 guest and my Suse 8.2 host. My suse machine has 2 network cards. They are both hardwired to my wireless/hardwire SpeedStream router. That router then is connecting wirelessly to my laptop with Suse 8.2 and my husband's win 98 computer. All is working fine for sharing files (except for printing). I will worry about that another time. Anyway, I want to share files and folders between my vmware win 98 guest and my Suse 8.2 host. I do not want my vmware win98 on the net and I do not need it to share files with the other computers that are hooked up. I have done this in the past by using the vmware samba, but now that I am networked with the 2 other computers here at home I do not want the vmware win98 networked in with them. I understand that it is better to add the vmware machine to the existing samba. I am not sure how to do that. I do not know if I have to add both ethernet card setups in vmware or just one. I honestly do not know if it is eth0 or eth1 that is connected to the internet. I am not sure how to find out which card is for the lan and which for the internet. I did the winicfpg in my vmware win98 but it shows no ethernet. I imagine that I must add the ethernet card to vmware but I am not sure which one. Eth0 uses tulip and the eth1 uses the 8139too driver in suse 8.2. Also, I use dhpcd. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Marcia
