Hi Folks,
I'm considering Tumbleweed for a customer, but they want to "register" the version number. What version numbering scheme does TW use? What would "/etc/os-release" show? Would it be a static number, or would it change as it "tumbles"?
Thanks, Lew
Isn't that a fool's errand on a rolling release?
Yes, but I need to get started somewhere, and this registry is run by fools anyway. :-)
What is this "register" anyway?, Company inventory or something?
It's sort of like a list of pre-approved of software. It could very well be they won't permit TW and other rolling-release packages. I can get things like "openSUSE 13.x" approved, but maybe not something like "openSUSE x.y".
