Hello. I run an X-terminal-server using SuSE 10.1. A lot of people visiting the office need to exchange file with USB flash (umess device). In order to make it possible for everybody to use USB drive, I used extended USB wire to give every user a USB port from terminal server. The problem is, when 5 users logged into the system, one user plug in a Umess device, a shortcut to this device is created on the desktop, only write accessible to another user! e.g. user yuliansu plug in a umess device, an icon appear on zhangweiwu's desktop, folder /media/disk (which is the mount point of this umess device) belong to zhangweiwu and not writable for other users. user yuliansu is upset because she cannot write to the device. What we need: when a umess device is plugged in, current problem is every user can see an icon for this device and EVERYBODY can write to it. e.g. folder /media/disk (mount point) should belong to certain user and permission should be 774 (group-writable). I hope I am clear on my situation. Can anyone give me hint where to configure the default permission for automatically mounted device like Umess?
