I keep reading all this stuff about internal modems won't work and only
external modems work with Linux. I have never used anything but an internal
modem. The question should be if it is a standard modem or a winmodem that
only Windoze can use. A standard internal or external modem works just fine.
On the the other hand, a winmodem requires window driver software.

If is an internal modem you up a creek with out a paddle for its a winmode that will not work. been there done that an will not work. if its an external then it should work. I like my motorolla 56k for windows an have a usr 33.6 for linux.

I should have clarified that, the motorolla 56k internal is a winmodem an will not work with linux. not sure if that is his or now. he just just motorolla unless i missed read the msg. I tried one an it will not work. thats why i added the old usr 33.6 for linux.
