Thanks to all responded to the DVD software.
Now for the long shots,
1) As most of us know, we still need windows for tax software. Any one heard of Linux versions ? (US)
Not yet - I used TaxAct, which stores my data on their server and is browser accessible. I did the whole thing from my laptop this year.
2) Being in the piano servicing business, I'm looking for Linux versions of tuning and CRM software. (Currently using (windows) Cybertuner and (linux) Quasar Accounting and flat files for records and history)
CRM? Have you looked? I'm sure there are versions out there. No idea there even existed piano tuning software.
3) My cousins run a retail hardware store and I am looking for a linux based POS system specifically designed for the retail hardware industry or easily customizable for this industry. (Their currently using a UNIX based package and the company is converting it to be windows based)
POS systems are a dime a dozen and come in all flavors of OS's. The last time I wrote one from scratch, I did it in DOS/Dataflex. My most recent project is wintendo based (for the Epson POS controls) and in C#. /. had an article a few months back: http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/02/24/2012230 -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
