When SUSE 8.2 detects a new/changed graphics card it sets the resulting reolutions too high for the Viewsonic LCD VE150m which it has also correctly identified. As a result the lcd monitor puts out an alert and the computer stops loading/freezes. I can solve the situation by changing to an old non-lcd monitor but that is hardly an elegant solution. Is there a way to get the system to apply a low resolution when it sees a change in the graghics card or the monitor? The irony is that the os correctly identifies the Viewsonic VE150m so it must know the correct frequencies to apply. -- Cheers, Serge Naggar Consulting
