Will try the config page and get the address. Is it added with numbers only or w/ the http first. It's USB printer connected to a cable router. Works fine in Ubuntu 11.10 so I guess it just needs the address in Suse .Thanks. Bob
If it is connected to the router's USB port then it will most likely use the router's IP address on TCP port 9100 (depending on what os runs on the router). It may need an ipp:// prefix too (i.e. ipp://<router_ip_address:9100). If it works in Ubuntu, on the Ubuntu box try browing to localhost:631 and check out the cups configuration there (i.e. the details of the print queue that cups is printing to). Then duplicate that via cups on the openSuSE box. You may need to point it to the ppd file installed by the Xerox software. I suspect that the Xerox software would recognise it if it was plugged directly into the USB port on the openSuSE host. Have you tried that? Get it working that way first (so you know it works), then setup the remote print queue in cups using the same driver.
