OpenSSH package only has scp, not sftp. scp is command line, sftp is interactive. It sounds like what you need. The security/crypto stuff is on the german SuSE FTP site, ftp.sus.de in /pub/suse/i386/update/7.0/sec1. It is like most daemons, there is a controller script, /sbin/init.d/sshd, to start and stop it, symlinks in /etc/rc.d/rc*.d to start/stop it on boot/halt.
OpenSSH (as of v 2.3) supports sftp too (on the server side). See FAQ on www.openssh.com -Kastus
