I want to learn how to create my own Linux boot disk using which I can run a REAL TIGHT linux from this disk.
Search for distributions containing the word "single" on http://www.linux.org/dist/english.html. Some new distributions may not be there (e.g. DemoLinux 2.0, http://www.demolinux.org/).
Also see the Bootdisk-HOWTO.
Thanks for pointing me into that direction, that HOWTO is better than I thought. Keep you informed. Only that this HOWTO describes howto boot from DISK, I need some additional info on how to boot various images from CD ROM, also. That is: Linux 1 Linux 2 Linux recovery Dos 6.2 DOS 7 all from one bootable CD. Where to read about that, or did I miss some passages? Thank you anyway!
