USB mouse, eh? regular Logitech selection in Sax/Sax2 would kick you to PS/2...
Correct. Especially as I am using the USB->PS/2 adaptor.
actual choice (for normal response is) IMPS/2 (or LogitechMouseManPS/2 -depends on how you brave to struggle for wheel) for protocol /dev/input/mice or /dev/input/event0 (sometime as device)
mapping for buttons 4 5 in Az mapping section
But here's the hanger: I can't even properly re-run Sax, as the mouse does not behave correctly while in Sax. As soon as I touch it, it leaps to the top of the screen and tucks itself in the upper-right corner, and stays there. So I can't even complete a fresh run of Sax to get back vanilla 3-button mouse behavior. Note that just bringing up the system after switching mice was no problem. X just saw it as another 3-button PS/2 mouse. Ermf. The odd thing is _where_ is Sax/X gettting the bad mouse info _from_? I have completely reverted the /etc/XF86Config file. TIA.
