Have you tried playing with the controls on your monitor. There should be several , that will controll width , hight , ect... This may help solve your problem. Hope this helps. Samy At 06:14 PM 12/29/1998 -0500, you wrote:
I just picked up a 2 meg pci ATI mach 64 card, installed the mach 64 server, ran xf86config to direct it to the new server... no problem. problem---> I seem to have lost about 1 inch from the top of my monitor and a little from the bottom! the resolution is640x480 800x600 1024x1024 all the same for 8bpp/16/24/32 The previous setup was an onboard card (this is on a compaq deskpro p90) with Im assuming 1M ram the difference in resolution is *slight* compared to my onboard setup I was told that a 2M would be more than adequate for web browsing, xgames etc, but the difference is minimal and Im not really happy about loosing an inch from my screen... did I miss something in the configuration? Was I "misguided"? any suggestions? thanks rob
