Hello,
I'm running suse 7.2 + kde2.2.2 on a pentium II 350 mhz motherboard. Today I got a Mainboard M830 motherboard with a 1000 MHZ AMD Athlon processor the SiS 735 chipset and built in AC97Codec. So i can put in my AGP video card, my 256 MB sdram memory, my PCI video card my pci 56k modem. Only the chipset, the processor and the soundcard are different. Will my OS recognise these differences automatically? Or what do I have to do to get a working system again Can somebody help me please?
TIA Leo
Leo, I think you will find everything comes up quite nicely. I just did something like this recently myself. Just moved the hard drive over to the new system and made some configuration changes later after it booted up just fine! I do agree with the suggestions on getting yourself a sound card though, you will be much more satisfied with it.
