Hi,
I was wondering how I could serve photo's and such to a tablet/smartphone. I know I can make a slide-show and upload that to a webserver, or install a CMS and use that to show the photo's, but are there more easy ways ? Mind you, it's only for home-use. No access from the Internet, although that could be just a firewall configuration. Of course, the server I want to use runs Opensuse.
Thanks for any thoughts.

I have samba and NFS running and use ES File Explorer or AndSMB to navigate to my pictures or media file on my Android phone and Tablet. On my iPad and iPod I use FileExplorer for the same purpose.

Hi, Once I found out I needed a "media-server" I found MediaTomb and installed it. Works fine on my phone and tablet. Unfortunately, upnp playback seems not supported on "standard" Linux, at least I found a bunch of problem-descriptions but without a real solution. Maybe I missed it.
