Don't you get YaST QT by default when you install KDE... and YaST GTK when you install Gnome (or other GTK based WMs)?
in my case, I even install yast qt on servers (to use through ssh -X), for some setups, there are much more options than ncurse

On my 13.1 64bit there is a Ruby issue if I try to start the Yast QT GUI and no interface starts. I'm obliged to use the GTK version and note that I have installed both Gnome and KDE DE than all libs should be on place!
