David, I have a similar setup as you have -- but in reverse :-), ie Win7 Pro is on sdb and Linux OSs on sda.
It may help if you read the article to be found here:
http://www.linuxidentity.com/us/index.php?name=Downloads
and it is the first one on the right hand side of the 2 bottom columns and called, "Linux Starter :: Installing Multipl..." which, in fact, is a pdf file; the full title is "Installing Multiple Distributions on the same computer", author Sankret Totewar. This article used to have its own URL but is now on this linuxidentity.com site.
Thank you BC,
Will give it a full read and see if it sheds light on why os-prober to start mucking with my grub.cfg.
It was one of these packages that cause the problems (from rpm -queryformat)

If anyone is familiar with which package may have done that or could narrow it down, it would be appreciated. Something changed.
Just write the bugzilla I told you and add that list. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
