how do i avoid this in /var/log/syslog/ <SNIP>
Hi, I think your problem may be in your logrotate configuration, specially here: /var/log/syslog/* Try creating an "old" directory inside /var/log/syslog/ and then add the following directive to your logrotate.d/syslog.conf olddir /var/log/syslog/old/ Then...as soon as logrotate rotates the files, it will place them in that directory. The other option is to remove the asterisk in /var/log/syslog/* and be more specific (I don't know how your files are named...) HTH, Jorge
