I have strange problem - disappearing icons & menus in OpenOffice 2 & SuSE 10.1. Moving cursir overs make them visible, but then they becomes invisible again (with blank toolbar).
I have upgraded to the latest OpenOffice 2.03, installed latest propritary nVidia driver, the problem still exists.
Anyone know how to get rid of this glitch?
Not sure if this will help, but I am testing the 2.0.3 x86_64 version and run into some java problems. Trying to track this down, I tried disabling java. When I opened OO writer, It was missing the top menu. So it may be a java problem. Make sure your OO can find and use your java install.
OpenOffice uses GTk for menus etc. The GIMP uses GTk too, and has the problem in drop down selection list. It works like hyperlink, after click on it changing the color to white, and only when mouse is over and background is blue I can see the text. Any item that was used once stay grayed out. In report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=185720 is mentioned that rpm -e gtk-qt-engine solves some shading problem, and that is probably what I have. Here is gtk-qt-engine-0.7cvs20060209-22.1 version, right now rpm -e, and start GIMP. The GIMP window has no more same look like KDE, but problem with missing (shaded) text disappeared. Missing icons are mentioned in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=66216 I can't reproduce that. -- Regards, Rajko. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
