I don't understand this. Meaning, what can I do to make firefox use IPv6 and why exactly it doesn't?
You can configure your computer to prefer IPv4 or IPv6
After two decades of configuration, I don't remember what this machine is configured for. This moment I'm past bed time, so I don't remember where to check, either.
/etc/gai.conf The default is to prefer ipv6.
Routers often use link local addresses.
Which can not be used in commands.
Of course they can. They are perfectly valid IPv6 addresses. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.0°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes (2016 - present) We're hiring - https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Heroes
