I've been using the SuSE 5.2 version that came with PC Plus. I still, however, have problems trying to run TkDesk, in that it gets to the point 'loading configuration', them sits there for a while, and during this time the cursor locks up. Eventually TkDesk appears, and mostly works. Occasionally, a certain operation with it will repeat the above lock-up.
I have a feeling that it is to do with IRQ conflicts (possibly with sound?). However, I have printed out all the system details (IRQs, memory allocation etc.), and tried to match up with the SuSE config. Can someone suggest the best debug procedure?

Hi Chris; What type of computer are you running? I've got a 486/33 and have the same problem. I've always thought that it was just because TkDesk was hogging the CPU. To cure the problem I canned TkDesk and use MC at the command line. It does everything I need TkDesk for and it a world faster.
