Do I need to re-install 11.4 milestone 3 on a milestone 2 system? I did not see any reference to this in the various descriptions I have found. I did try an update (zupper up and zupper dup), but there were some problems with incompatible RPMs, so I did not actually do the updates. This was against whatever repos the milestone 2 install set up.
Why do you ask this on opensuse instead of opensuse-factory?
I have been holding off joining that list. I fear what I may start playing with. But I think it will be happening soon. But you are of course right.
I frequently encounter incompatibility messages dup'ing from one M to the next. I don't usually blanket dup. Instead I usually do something like:
'zypper in openSUSE-release mkinitrd rpm libzypp zypper udev hal dbus-1 wget aria2 curl perl-Bootloader yast2-bootloader mc satsolver-tools'
Seems reasonable. I guess if these fail you limit the things to be set right to make it work again.
