My Showfoto has suddenly, like a bolt from the blue, started to crash every time I try to start it with an image. [...] What is going on?
I have version 8.3.0 in TW. It has a few glitches. For example, clicking on a thumbnail does nothing. But is is usable using the keyboard. But I run it in Openbox. My impression is that it would work better in KDE. The same goes for a few other KDE programs. But as long as Showfoto does not function very well, I'd like to suggest another program: XnView MP. It looks like Showfoto, and as far as I can see, it has at least the same functionality. Here you see all the things it can do: www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/ You can also download it from here. You can take the tgz for Linux. No need to install; after unpacking, run xnview.sh in the main folder. MP stands for Multi Platform. XnView MP is considered the best alternative to the Faststone image viewer, which exists only for Windows. Faststone works well with Wine though. So if you like, you can also try that.
