Konqueror/KDE configuration file

I'm loooking for help. I want to change a file association from StarOffice 6.1 (no longer installed) to StarOffice 7 in KDE/Konqueror. I've tried changing through control center and through konqueror, but each time I restart KDE it reverts to the old settings. Any suggestions?
