fonts issue with KDE 3.5 upgrade

I have just upgraded KDE 3.5-0 to 3.5-2 and after rebooting the fonts are all to pot. All the fonts on KDM are squares KDM also takes longer to start. I can login but KDE takes ages to start and all the fonts are squares same as on KDM I used smart to upgrade and everything seemed to go OK till I rebooted. I did run SuSEconfig and ldconfig manualy after the upgrade. This is all on a SUSE 10GM box. Any help please I would like to sort this but I will be reinstalling soon as I am swopping out a raid card and changing the graphics card soon.
