My Tumbleweed root filesystem, btrfs, keeps jumping to full or nearly so. I just cleaned /.snapshots/ of a considerable amount but each time I remove unnecessary files, the system quickly fills itself.
What to do? It doesn't appear to be a problem with /tmp and/or /var/tmp or /var, but what do I know.....
tks,
There was a similar thread a month or two ago. Search the archives. Depending on what is in your BTRFS system it might not be /tmp or /var/tmp. In spite of making it look like several mount points, BTRFS uses the same pool of free space for all sub-partitions, which pretty much negates any value allowing /tmp as part of your BTRFS file system. If the root or user directory is also there, downloading big things, or doing several yast/zypper updates can make it grow quite fast. There are settings to control the number and frequency of snapshots. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
