Thanx, it worked to get my data, but the directory structure was destroyed. What can cause such corruption on USB attached ext3 formatted drives? It has never happened with WndBlows' FAT32 before on these external drives. I repartitioned them for Linux with ext3 on one and XFS on the otjer.
