I have been following his articles all along and keeping tabs on the kernel mailing list. I'm now up and running on 2.6.0, though some funnies appeared, some only after I had done a few reasonably OK reboots. I did a slight mod to 2.6.0 and booted up as 2.6.0-1 - failed. Even the 2.6.0 seems to need apm=off to boot with spurious false errors, once it's up it's fine, I guess it doesn't like something on my 9.0 box, so I am thinking of installing on another box SuSE 9.0, then perhaps Mandrake 9.2 to see how they behave with 2.6.0 with a clean distro.
