Hi, I don't know about the specifics of your question, but I know from hard experience that the 2.4.0 kernel had problems with reiserfs. At one point my system crashed and the entire partition was completely beyond repair. If for no other reason I strongly suggest you upgrade the kernel. regards Anders On Thursday 30 August 2001 17.50, Glenn Holmer wrote:
We're having a real problem with NFS here (files and directories suddenly becoming invisible or permission denied). This is on a Compaq server with hardware RAID (cpqarray) and Reiser filesystem for everything but /boot.
Someone suggested that there is a problem with the combination of Reiser and NFS, and that seems to be borne out by a patch on the namesys.com site. This is a SuSE 7.1 box (kernel 2.4.0) with no modifications, do we need to patch for this? I assumed that SuSE's kernels were already patched for Reiser. Or is there an update somewhere that we don't know about?
