SuSE 8.2 file associations

When I try to open an attachment, a .doc file, in Eveolution 1.2.2, all I can do is save it to disk. I set the file associations in the KDE control panel for OOo Writer, but it still does not work. This worked in 8.0 and 8.1.. If I click on a .doc file with Konqueror, it opens on OOo. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work with Evolution? Art
