How would I create a directory for a normal user, with permissions so that she could copy new files into that dir, read the files, but not erase anything?
IMHO standard permissions can't do it. A workaround is a directory with no write permissions for the user to which the files are copied by a program with special privileges (see also "sudo"). -- A.M.
