Kmail funky characters

On 8-22, Jim Cunning suggested a fix for the Chinese characters that sometimes show up instead of the Latin alphabet on incoming mail. (Sorry, I did not save the original thread, so the thread is actually broken with this mail.) He said go to Settings>Configure Kmail>Composer> Charset and turn off "Keep original charset when replying or forwarding (if possible)" I thought it worked--then I downloaded the thread of "I want to run Windows programs" and sure enough, the first message looked like Chinese. Another message a little further down from the same poster (Zhwang) came out in Latin letters and plain English. I guess it's back to Windows again. (I like Eudora better than Kmail anyway.) --doug
