As I have been perusing forums for multiple distributions, I've found that this laptop model apparently has issues with suspend.
Up the wrong tree barking there, Adam. My Wife has one of those (Dell backplate model number PP25L) and it goes into and out of suspend perfectly every single time. She never shuts it off, simply closes the lid. The machine was sold with Ubuntu/Gnome by Dell and everything worked, from the sound to the finger-print scanner, to the camera, and wifi. Her's has been updated to Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS running Gnome. (Purchased it running 9.something)/ It will probably get another update when the next LTS is out, in two years (but she keeps it up to date with patches and stuff). So, you may want to try Ubuntu, it seems very happy with that Distro. In Ubuntu land this is done with System / Preferences / Power management but since I never run Gnome on OpenSuse, I can't be sure its the same. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
