Sorry about the length of this :-(
This is based on a letter I sent to SuSE support though I sincerely doubt
it will qualify within the 90 days installation support that I thought
sounded so good when I bought a copy of the distro.
As I said earlier I can't get YOU working. I get this error both at work
and at home and the one at work particularly is a very standard install so
I figure it has to be something others get and not just me. I have tried to
get support in both the SuSE Linux E maillist and on line at a number of
bulletin boards with no luck.
The error message I get is:
Connection to YOU server failed.
Try to connect to another SuSE server
If (as has been suggested on one forum) I change the expert settings to
HTTP I get:
Cannot get the patches from the server.
Try another SuSE FTP/HTTP server.
The following is the content of my /var/lib/YaST/update.inf file that one
of the SuSE SDB articles hints it might be (though that was aimed at SuSE
7.3):

I have set proxies in several places i.e. in Konqueror/KDE, in YaST2
(System Sysconfig Editor System Proxy) to
http://proxycfg.lon.globalone.net/shell-cgi/proxy.pl can successfully reach
the Internet using the proxy.
