I am trying to connect to the Internet using Suse Linux 5.1 and I can't get by Boca Research 33,600 ACF Internal modem detected by Linux (i.e the PnP card isn't recognized). What program(s) do I use to get the card recognized at startup? I can't figure out the isapnptools. Any suggestions?
You have to edit your isapnp.conf and enter the address and irq. Enter the following: pnpdump > /etc/isapnp.conf Also, make sure you don't have your motherboards second com port set to the same irq. See how the lines are uncommented, and the base address and irq are entered ? ############################################################# # isapnp.conf for a pnp cardinal modem # Card 2: (serial identifier 4c 74 29 38 0e 00 00 44 0e) # ANSI string -->Cardinal MVP288I2 <-- (CONFIGURE CRD0000/1948858382 (LD 0 (IO 0 (BASE 0x02f8)) (INT 0 (IRQ 3 (MODE +L))) (ACT Y) )) (WAITFORKEY) ################################################################ zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
