I have an IBM with Red Hat Installed. It recognized the network adapter, but SuSE doesn't autodetect it. Red Hat is networked and works on the local net and the internet. I have SuSE install copied to a shared folder on a windows machine. I would like to know if there is a way to install SuSE from the Red Hat boot. I don't know what the NIC is, it is built into an IBM PC300PL.
? Can't you determine the nic via the RH installation. You may find it listed somewhere in the file pci in /proc. Once you know that, you should be able to install suse with this information.
I have the Boot CD-ROM for internet install and a boot floppy that appears not to be needed by the CD.
Is this the suse boot cd-rom?
Any suggestions? Thanks.
