Charles, In answer to your questions.... 1. AFAIK, Partition Magic can change between a variety of different partition types, and I seem to remember FAT32 to FAT16 being one option. 2. I've got a working system fairly close to this kind of setup. I have three hard disks. The first one has a 30Mb FAT16 partition configured as C:, and everything boots off it. The rest of that disk is configured as NTFS. The whole of the second disk is for Linux, and the whole of the third disk is Win 98 (FAT32). I use the Win2k boot manager to boot everything off C:, and you can add Linux to it by installing LILO in the boot sector ot the Linux disk, and then using dd if=/dev/hdx of=/mnt/mtpt/bootsect.lnx bs=512 count=1 where hdx is the Linux disk and /mnt/mntpt is the mount point of your (read-write) FAT16 partition. You'd then add the appropriate line to boot.ini for Linux. 3. The current stable kernel (2.2.10) contains support for FAT32.
