SuSE is and will always be the best Linux Distribution...
In your opinion, I have yet to make my mind up fully and I will make my own mind up based on my experiences with it.
...that is why they are called the Linux Experts.
No matter what distribution you use, you will always have minor issues
They call *themselves* the Linux experts. that
appear after the product is launched...
...you have to however weigh apples with apples...
...to date there is still at least 17 Security exploits for Windows NT
Not with the free Mandrake disk I had, or the copy of redhat I installed. Is it too much to expect that when I *pay* for a Linux distro from SuSE that they have checked that the software that comes with it works? that
Microsoft is:
a). Incapable b). Unable c). No desire
to fix.
I use NT at work because I have to, I am installing SuSE, I will fix the VMware problem here, but because I don't have a net connection at home or a CD burner I am going to find it pretty difficult to fix the issue as I don't have 30 floppy disks to split the files onto or the time to reassemble the files when I get there. I was not saying Windows was better, I don't know why it had to be brought up, I certainly didn't mention it.
I would rather support a O/S, that acknowledges when something is wrong, creates a patch or fix, and releases it.
This is not an OS argument I don't think.
So personally I think you need to really look at what you are complaining about... ...and maybe rethink your criticism.
I bought a distro for the first time ever and it doesn't work as well as the ones I didn't have to pay for.
However if you feel that way still, it is a free world... ...I will however sleep very easy every night, knowing that all the servers that my department manage, will continue to be the best out there...
Free world, except I hear that the Yast2 part of SuSE is not open source... Not so free there. We run Linux on most of our servers. The best uptime is 5 years so I know about reliability, I was talking about the dissapointment that I paid for a distro and it didn't work properly.
...because they are running the best LINUX Distribution...
...SuSE is Sooperb!!!!
In your opinion. From what I have seen SuSE is OK. Will.
