Just wondering if anyone is runing samba 3 yet. if so how are things running with it.
We are, thanks to the previous IT manager sticking a prerelease on a production server. As a file server it works exactly as you would expect it to work. However as a print server, intergrated with CUPS, were having a few problems when its under a heavy load (20 -> 35 users all printing to the same printer at the same time),in which case about 5 of the users will be unable to print and the printer goes offline. The error in the logs comes back as: ERROR: NULL dest in safe_strcpy Apparenly it was fixed in 3.0.1pre2,but we havnt updated yet.
also are there any suse rpm's out for it yet. I have 9.0 installed on a machine here at work for testing stages an would love to try it out on our lan here. I know enough not to trust it yet for production.
There are test rpms available from: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/gd/ Were planning on using it as a PDC when it becomes more stable - the previous manager was headhunted before he could implement that with beta software :) Regards, Ben
