The program gpm should allow me to use the mouse to copy and paste in a console session (ttyn to be clear, eg. tty2). When I try to use it in TW I am told that it is in sbin and requires sudo. Which I looked up and this has been explained for security reasons. The man page speaks about the x-server but does not mention if the x-server has to be started manually. But if I am running on tty7 a KDE desktop session, shouldn't the xserver already be running? I tried with sudo and with su - but both go through without complain and ... nothing happens. (sudo gmp) I tried to use the mouse after the command but this does not seem to work. Do I think wrongly or is there a way to use gpm in specific way to achieve this in TW? (This is mainly for learning reasons, since a text, that I am using currently, mentions the program in this usage). Thank you. _________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ Ihre E-Mail-Postfcher sicher & zentral an einem Ort.
