Strange. I just repeated these steps and it worked fine... Does "top" show any unusual things? Which version of YaST do you use? I have 0.991.2 There's an update on our ftp-Server to version 0.991.3, this should solve the problem: yast.rpm YaST Version 0.991.3 with some bugfixes Fixed scanning RPM database. YaST was confused by packages with multiline summary entries.
