Netgear Nat'l Semiconductor driver

      I have a netgear 10/100 nic (dp83815) using a national semiconductor
chipset, and I am using suse 8.1.  I remember before with 7.x I had to
d/l the driver but it had an issue which drastically slowed down the
data throughput.  I can't seem to find much about this anymore on the
web, so I was wondering if anyone knows if that is no longer an issue
with the driver supplied with 8.1?
