I noticed that ever since I installed SuSE 6.3, my cdrom module loads and scans at each boot up. This really increases boot up time. I am using the sbpcd module With the default settings for my soundblaster pro cdrom. I never had this problem before ( didn't do this in previous releases 5.3- 6.2) so I don't know where the file is located that needs edited to stop this unnecessary scanning. Can anyone tell me which file I need to edit? I tried using YaST and selecting the soundblaster pro module again, but it doesn't seem to change it. I also looked at the rc.config and modules.conf, but could not find any mention of scanning. According to modules.conf: options sbpcd sbpcd=0x230,1 this is correct, yet the module still scans for another cdrom ( I think some kind of lasermate cdrom ). thanks in advance, joe -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
