It is my understanding from past actions [and even a comment either here or on a SuSE FAQ page somewhere] that SuSE does a couple of things in regards to downloadable/ftp installs: 1) they delay the actual posting of the files on their server for at least two weeks, possibly more, from the official "release" day. This is mainly to encourage those "gotta-have-it-NOW" types to seek a physical box for $$$. This is good for a lot of reasons, but the most important two are that (a) SuSE gets some cash to continue operating as a business, and (b) their FTP servers aren't bombarded on day one 2) they do not provide ".iso" images, nor an "easy answer" to the question, "how should I lay files out to make my own CD's". Again, this is mainly to support income-via-hard-sales, but this will only last perhaps one more release cycle. Why? well, DVD --RECORDERS-- are now becoming inexpensive enough that people will be using them, and if you can fit "all" of the FTP installation image on a DVD, you can use that as the source - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+kLD1V/YHUqq2SwsRAhPWAJ4staVTWSNtlYOMk540WH38kTZCLgCggUv2 2dH8N+39/fnUM6AFQdduve0= =w9w/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
