did you try setting your mouse as a generic ps/2 mouse? if i remember correctly, that's how the laptop devices are to be set up...i don't have a laptop, though, so YMMV. go into sax and see if you can get any of the ps/2 settings to work. oh, and you might need to set the path as /dev/psaux ...i did on my desktop machine. -derek -----Original Message----- From: Jay Raman <jraman@netscape.com> To: suse-linux-e@suse.de <suse-linux-e@suse.de> Cc: suse-linux@suse.de <suse-linux@suse.de> Date: Sunday, November 22, 1998 6:38 AM Subject: [SuSE Linux] Internal Trackpoint mouse support
Hi, I recently installed S.u.S.E 5.3 on my laptop and I love it. Thanks for an excellent distribution.
The laptop model is HP Omnibook 4100 with 96 mb memory 266MHZ PII with 6.4 GB hard disk.
I have not been able to make the internal trackpoint mouse or the touch pad working. I have tried all combinations possible in the BIOS setting (Auto, Internal, External etc.) and only touch pad or only trackpoint.
None of the combinations I tried seem to make it work. Only an external microsoft type mouse works.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for your help. I am not on this mailing list. So please reply to me.
